I mentioned in my homily this weekend that I attended a fundraising event for Cycle For Sight which raised money to find diseases of the eyes. The event was a dinner held at O Noir, a restaurant in Toronto (and many other places) that serves dinner to you in total and absolute darkness. It gives you an experience of being blind. The waitstaff are blind.
The food and the experience was amazing. The key was to learn to listen the voice of your waiter or waitress (ours was an amazing Tracy) who will guide you into the dining room and through your meal. Sort of the way you have to learn to listen to the voice of the Good Shepherd to guide you through life.
