Friar Reto prostrates during the Litany of Saints prior to making his Solemn Vows as a Conventual Franciscan Friar

Our Franciscan community celebrated the Profession of Solemn Vows of Friar Reto Davatz. Reto is a native of Montreal and has been in Costa Rica, for a fraternal-apostolic year. This “year” is part of the formation program which has the friars in First Vows spend a year in a “regular” friary working with the other friars. In this case, it was at our St. Francis College in San Jose, Costa Rica.  Reto will now return to San Antonion, Texas (where one of our formation houses is located) and complete his studies in Ministry and Theology at the Oblate School of Theology.

Listen to Friar Reto’s thoughts about his Solemn Vows and his vocation on the YouTube video below. There’s a second one also available on YouTube and at my previous post.
