Stem-cell breakthrough

Posted by

Mount Sinai Hospital in Toronto has announced an important breakthrough in stem-cell research that does not require the use of embrionic cells. Rather it uses a novel approach to making adult cells into stem cells. This breakthrough is said to speed up the process of testing whether the dramatic hopes for stem cells will in fact bear fruit. God bless the researchers as they continue this important work.

  1. Just need to clarify…adult stem cells research itself is not a “novel” approach. The “speeding up of the process” is the novel approach to creating these stem cells.

It’s interesting to note that this research has been going on for many, many years and scientiests have had WAY more successes than with embryonic stem cells. The Main Stream Media, however, just doesn’t cover these stories of success. I’m actually surprised they did this time.
